When a war erupts in Mkhalango Forest between birds and mice, a group of elite birds, Egustus, Owlice, Crownius and Ravenous must pick themselves up and be great again, and Ted is going to learn a lesson he will never forget.

What Ted, a five-year-old boy discovers from adventures of spirited birds is that giving up is never an option for those who aim high. Egleenie has the worst day out fishing, Dunsillie has to pass a tough test of character, and Crownius is reduced to the rank of the poorest bird in the wild world. The thing is that the birds refuse to give up and so Egleenie catches the biggest fish in a heart griping moment, Dunsillie soars into the sky after suffering much ridicule, and Crownius becomes a tycoon and a top politician, and marries the most beautiful bird in the wild world.
