Another slice of life on the Outer Banks, from the author who took you to PORT STARBIRD!

In this companion short story to the STORM KETCHUM ADVENTURES series of Outer Banks island mysteries, an outing on Halloween night turns eerie for Ketch.

On his way to a costume party at the Captain's place, Ketch detours to take in a tourist attraction he's never before visited - the Cora Tree, a legendary old live oak that was allegedly split by lightning and branded with the name 'Cora' three hundred years ago during an attempt to execute an accused witch. While Ketch examines the tree, a peculiar woman approaches and relates Cora's tale to him, and then disappears as suddenly as she appeared. Was she just a solicitous local - or was she something else, on this night when pagans believed the spirits of the departed could return to roam the Earth?

Join reluctant amateur sleuth Storm 'Ketch' Ketchum as he experiences the mystery of Cora's Tree on historic Hatteras Island, where intrigue always seems to be just around the next corner.
