The objective of this research study is to examine aspects of integrative medicine in order to help the reader understand its benefits, limitations and application, and to outline why there is a need for such an approach and how it is possible. A practical approach has been used to demonstrate how this is possible in clinical practice. Definitions of each individual modality are given to indicate when they are necessary in an integrative health care system. Another aim is to help clinicians decide whether an integrative or specialist approach is necessary for a patient’s best prognosis. It is our hope that this book also serves as a source for patients, to broaden their awareness and educate them on individual modalities, ultimately helping them find the right combination of treatments for their particular health concern. Case studies are provided from my clinical practice to support my theory.
