How far would you go to learn the truth and save a friend?

Jane Alexander’s best friend, Maria, vanished. Seven days later, she returned with no memory of her missing week. Jane knows that she's not telling the truth, but Maria refuses to answer her questions. An unexplained illness forces Maria to be bedridden, and Jane’s fear grows as Maria begins to systematically cut her out of her life by ignoring all of her calls and texts. Jane is determined to learn the truth, but she harbors her own secret from the night Maria vanished.

Complicating matters is Akira Yamaguchi, the hot basketball star from Japan who seems to be overly interested in Maria and her disappearance. Things become surreal when Jane is paired up with him for a research project comparing mythological beings from different cultures, and she soon discovers that she is fighting for more than simply learning the truth behind Maria’s disappearance.
