Dead Calm
An unusual muggy, humid day after a dead calm came in. Clint is trying to find a way to cool off when he gets a call. It is a man on a sailboat. He is being chased by someone. There is the sound of a shot, then nothing.
The boat was found near Tierra Oscura. No sailboat would be in there. There had been no wind for the boat to be moving at all, much less fleeing to escape anything. There was blood in the boat, but no signs of anyone else around.
This was an obvcious set-up. Why? It was as obvious it was set up to get Clint's attention.
Scared Half to Death!
A woman is telling Clint and friends of an experience where she was almost mugged or worse! She was scared half to death!
Her murder was the other half.
Clint learned that Toy, a local man, had simply offered to walk with her from sixth street to downtown. Sixth street on that end is dangerous.
Someone did kill her. Clint wanted to know who and why.
Dead Slow
Clint and friends were coming in from the Zapatillos when they had to proceed at dead slow because of the police ahead. There was a boat with two bodies in it. They couldn't determine the cause of death.
Clint investigates to find the man was an inventor. Nothing there to kill for - was there?
A voodoo doll? One that brought death to anyone who touched it?
Investigating that doll answered a lot of questions.
Death Walks Beside Me
A very sad man on the comarca. He said that death walked beside him. Every time he made friends with anyone, they ended up murdered. He was on teh comarca to see if the medicine woman could detect a curse on him.
Clint investigated his past. He found the reason. A pedophile ring the man didn't consciously know anything about.
Clint had to find a way to get them to Panama before he could do anything about it.
