When Ella's step mother is revealed as a witch, she uses her dark magic to stop Ella going to the ball, and from anyone else helping her. This action will set into motion a series of events that will change the land forever.

Years later after that pivotal night, Ella's step mother is now the Queen, ruling the land by the fear of her enchanted army that seems unstoppable.

Ella has become a mercenary, fighting for the freedom of the Kingdom. A chance encounter with a young man named Arran, a friend of the Prince, now in hiding, launches Ella on a quest across the kingdom in search of a mysterious being known only as, 'The Spirit'.

With the help of her friends and fellow mercenaries they must face unknown dangers and creatures.
