These materials were written for performance and use with adult or teen Bible and Sunday School classes and worship services. Most are intended to be performed by two women although adaptations can be made. Part I deals with women of the Bible. Some are conversations between characters who were contemporaries and knew each other, while others are creative renderings about individuals who did not live at the same time or place. Topics include: Martha and Mary, Elizabeth, Ruth and Naomi, Deborah and Jael, the Samaritan Woman and the Woman Who Washed the Feet of Jesus with her Hair, the Queen of Sheba and Esther, Jonah's Whale and Balaam's Donkey, Two Poor Widows, John Wesley's Mother, Fiance' and Wife. The skits require few props and suggestions are made as to how the stories might be applied to our lives today. Part II contains seven plays and skits set in contemporary times. They combine several of the Parables of Jesus Christ. They are intended to be presented by two women but can be adapted. Their purpose is to encourage the audience to consider how relevant the Parables of Jesus still our in our lives today.
