This children's tale, is about Christopher Crossword and his friends. Chris is a know-it-all, braggart, who always makes of point of telling his friends just how smart he is. Chris, being a crossword puzzle, his friends, are of course, a group of office supplies, Edgar Eraser, Penny Pencil, and Billy Ballpoint. They are fed up with having to hear Chris constantly bragging about his superior intellect. When they finally have had enough of his intellectual showing off, they decide to teach Chris a valuable lesson in life. They introduce him to another one of their friends, who is much smarter than Christopher is. His name is Bobby Book, and Bobby just happens to be a dictionary, filled with many more words than any crossword puzzle ever had. Christopher learns no matter how smart you think you are, there is always someone out there that is smarter than you are, and that even if you are capable of doing things by yourself, with the help of friends, you can sometimes accomplish much, much more.
