Cherry Blossoms in the Storm is a historical novel about three Japanese American brothers and their families during World War 2.

The three brothers find their lives turned upside down when they are caught in the cataclysm of war. Eldest brother Akira Omura is stranded in Japan at the outbreak and is forced to fight against the country of his birth. Complicating matters is a love triangle between Akira, his beautiful fiancee, and her former suitor. In America, wartime hysteria sends younger brothers Tad and Danny to internment camps. Tad joins the US Army and fights in Europe, while Danny becomes a draft resister. They traverse oceans and the even wider chasms of prejudice, hatred, and separation from loved ones, risking their lives to seek freedom and hope for the future.
