Former Jack Anderson intern and award-winning reporter Sharon Geltner raised money for Palm Beach nonprofits; via coverage in the Wall Street Journal, Newsweek.com and MSNBC.com. Her lunches at the Four Seasons featured Sports Illustrated columnist Frank Deford; Mavis Leno, wife of Jay Leno and Denise Brown, the sister of the slain Nicole Brown Simpson.
Geltner, an adunct professor, created the national journalism campaign, “Net Needs News Day,” in which editorial cartoonists published on how “new media needs old media.” She is a founding board member of the Greater Boynton Beach Foundation and volunteers extensively for nonprofits. Geltner is president of Froogle PR, a multiplatform marketing, SEO and special events firm and is the first digital author invited to speak to Palm Beach County (FL) library patrons.
She has been quoted in Newsweek, International Herald Tribune, Editor & Publisher, American Journalism Review, Washington Post, etc. Geltner was a Knight Ridder Newspapers foreign correspondent in Israel; and was under SCUD missile attacks during Gulf War I. She’s also been on assignment in Cairo, Lapland and Singapore.
