For most of her life, Jay W. MacIntosh (born Janet Tallulah Jewell) has loved flowers. It started when she was little. When her mother planted vegetables, she planted flowers. When her mother harvested carrots or lettuce or squash, she picked flowers. As she grew older, she knew most of the homes with fresh flowers in their yards. She knew hedges with flowers and yards with jonquils and tulips and narcissus. Her love affair with flowers continued. While she was practicing law in Los Angeles, California, she became interested in photography as a hobby and began taking pictures of roses. This book is a collection of her favorites with selected quotations. One reader describes this book as such: "Whenever I see a photo of a rose posted, I repost as a reminder that there is beauty around us. Jay MacIntosh's book ['Capturing Beauty'] was given to me as a birthday gift, and I just adore it. I look through it over and over again - not only for the beauty of the photography, but also for the wonderful quotes Ms. MacIntosh puts next to each rose. So, along with her eye for capturing a moment in time on Mother Nature's watch, we read what Einstein has to say or the Buddha and such. Instead of thinking of so much ugliness on the news or postings, these flowers refresh the soul. The quotes make one contemplate better ways of living and doing things. I cherish this book and feel that looking through it over and over again is better than a glass of wine and far healthier! I highly suggest purchasing this book of wonder; You'll never be sorry." - Adria Schumann, Los Angeles, California. Jay W. MacIntosh’s published works include “Capturing Beauty”, “The Origins of George Bernard Shaw’s Life Force Philosophy”, “Janet Tallulah”, “Journal of Janet Tallulah, Volume I”, "Journal of Janet Tallulah, Volume 2", "Jayspeak on the Cote d'Azur", and "Moments in Time".
