It is not only a fancier address than any in Texas but will, he believes, vastly increase his already considerable fortune.
His wife wants to turn it into a modern luxurious mansion but he has other more ambitious plans for it. He is visited by an Arab sheikh who thinks Candoo is the man who can tow Antarctica iceburgs to his water-starved desert country; by a South American dictator who wants to trade his backward country for the Acropolis, and by the Prime Minister of Japan who makes him an off er no ordinary man could refuse.
A triumphant Candoo declares that he is divine, certain he can will he will not die.
After being warned that his arrogance off ends the Greek gods who will destroy him fo his hubris, Candoo is confronted by Zeus. It is the American master of the universe versus the king of the Greek gods.
When Zeuss daughter intervenes, Candoo is faced with having to choose between love and power, she between life and death.
