The POEM generically is the most colorful literary facility for articulating ideas whether of philosophical discourse, romantic rhapsody, or socio-political protest a kaleidoscopic omnibus. Underlying this is the fact of poetry as a potent mechanism for actuating the power of language. I have put together this work, my first, essentially as a testimonial to this personal perception of the versatile vitality of the art form a labor of love. Calabash of Colors is therefore a vigorously varied pot-pourri of poems within which scope of structures, from metaphor-dense verses to easy-rolling prose-poems. I hope to have actuated some of poetrys power and color.
