The Chugoku pilgrimage of Buddhist temples in western Japan runs from the vicinity of Himeji down the South west coast of Honshu and back up the North west coast to Tottori. This book recounts experiences of undertaking the pilgrimage with a folding bike in April 2012. The journey included 37 temples of significance in the Chugoku region, which includes a large section of the coast of the Inland Sea and of the coast of the Sea of Japan. It was undertaken in the cherry blossom season and the book contains many colur photos of the temples of the route and of particular scenic attractions such as the shrines of Itsukushima and Izumo, Matsue and Kintaikyo Bridge.
