Significance

Bullying is an extremely alarming problem in virtually every school in every city in the world. “Bully Bully” is a family rated story that targets young students, and tackles bullying, not from the standpoint of catching and punishing, but rather with the goal of helping to change the aggressive behavior at an early age.

"Bully Bully" illuminates the road that bullies are travelling, by presenting findings and statistics from many academic studies. Thus enlightened, bullies are not simply exposed, emotionally embarrassed, and laden with guilt. They are intellectually informed as to the almost unavoidable harmful outcome to the bully, and to the victims.

All the statistics are stacked against the bully; at home, at school, and in the workplace. "Bully Bully" considers the probability of a criminal record and its consequences. It also examines the effect of bullying on relationships, in the family and in the community. It highlights the inevitable outcome of the loss of trust and respect, and the extreme difficulty in overcoming the long-term stigma associated with bullying.

While “Bully Bully” will have captivating appeal to the youth of today, it will also be received enthusiastically by parents, teachers and community leaders. The film addresses a subject of concern for governments and judiciaries everywhere. It provides educational and social benefits as well as exciting family entertainment for young and old alike. It contains particularly valuable substance on the subject of bullying, sufficient to form the foundation for classroom analysis and discussion, as part of the curriculum requirement of any school. On this basis alone its potential appeal and societal value could be very important to every community.

Logline

In responding to an outbreak of bullying serious enough to require police intervention, a high school senior (given to episodes of fantasy) ends up educating the teachers and the school board.

Synopsis

Tracey leads a team of high school students preparing a school project on “Bullying”, as an ongoing series of bullying incidents occur on the school bus, in the school hallways, in the schoolyard, and in the city streets. Headline bullying assaults lead to a police raid on the high school and the arrest of several students.

A parallel drama unfolds in the form of Tracey’s ongoing, but intermittent dream of a fantasy planet threatened by the hostile crew of a foreign spaceship. Will it be necessary to resort to violence in order to maintain security? What alternative solution would be practical and effective? Can conflict be successfully overcome without hostility? Excitement peaks when suddenly the planet is threatened with destruction, and the hostile crew is confronted with the decision of putting their own lives in harms way, in order to save their new found friends.

Intertwined in the plot is a love story between a member of the crew, and a young lady on the planet.

The script includes two original songs.
