In the dusty attic of his rented townhouse, Lucas Berkley is packing the last of his belongings, when he finds his old, forgotten leather-bound journal, written more than a decade earlier.
The ink is still readable on the faded pages and parts of the diary are written in a secret code, which only Lucas can read.
This is the beginning of a story about searching for rare wild orchids in the forest outside Oxford and about a young man falling in love for the first time without even realising it himself...
An extract from the story:
It is complicated to explain what happened after that…
It felt like the world around me shifted in focus. The trees and the forest seemed to fade away into a blurring haze around me, and all I could think of was how close he stood. Roderick looked deep into my eyes, and I saw how his gaze shifted back and forth quickly from one eye to the other. It was such an intense look that for a moment I forgot to breathe, and I felt my throat go instantly dry.
Then, without any warning, he suddenly grasped the collar of my linen coat and quite roughly pushed me up against the trunk of the nearest tree! I was so surprised and astonished I dropped my satchel, and for a bewildered, short second I thought he was going to hit me.
However, he did not‒instead he pressed his lips uncompromisingly against mine and kissed me!
Keywords:
Ghost orchids, First lover, Dubious consent (mild), Secret diary, M/M oral sex.
