She gazed out the window on the way downtown. The scenery is passing without her noticing. Eventually arriving at the county jail, looking around in wonder she sees the other officers looking at her intently. It is as if they had never seen a woman bloody from head to toe she thought. It was not until the mug shot that Monica realized she had a sinister smile on her face.

This was never meant to be her life. How could she get stuck in this relationship with a man who uses and abuses her? Looking out the window waiting for him to show up, eyes blacked and vision blurry, Monica knows when he comes home and sees that she hasn’t done any of the required cleaning and cooking there will be hell to pay.
