While it is not possible to express my greatitude to each individually most happily have to acknowledge my indebtedness to a few of them who have been very sincerely associated with my research work.

This book deals with the political and socioeconomic conditions of India from 1800 AD to 2002 AD. It discusses many important aspects of the History of Indian people during the period laying special emphasis on the renaissance in the 19 century which has transformed Indian from a medieval to a modern country.
