Herbertia is a gentle snake. She lives among a colony of snakes who believe they should be vicious and vile to protect themselves. The people of a nearby village wish to rid themselves of their vicious and vile neighbours. So three people are sent on a quest to move the snakes to another location, but come to grief in comical meetings with Herbertia.
