The Quinquennial mission system, originated from the peace agreement between Nepal and China in 1792, formed an integral part of Nepal-China relations. A pioneering research work on the subject has been made by Tri Ratna Manandhar and Tirtha Prasad Mishra.

This book is a collection of twelve articles mainly dealing with the different aspects (phases) of Nepal-China relations. Of the twelve articles, two are unpublished, and the remaining ten articles were published in the Research Journals -- Voice of History, Rolamba and Journal of Nepalese Studies.
