Freaks is a play set on one Saturday in 1985 when a group of young goths and punks gear up for a night out on the town. Against a background of Thatchers Britain, when youth unemployment is running rife, the alternative culture friends discuss their hopes and aspirations and a future that looks bleak in a society that doesnt take kindly to outsiders like them.

Rat Race is a semi autobiographical novel set in the 1980s, in Thatchers Britain. It focuses on Paul, who has just graduated and wants to be a writer. He faces overwhelming pressure from everyone around him, however, to get on and join the Rat Race, against his will and in sharp contrast to the alternative lifestyle he wants to live.
