Six months ago, Evie had her heart broken. Six months ago, Chris did the unthinkable in order to protect Evie. Neither Chris nor Evie thought they’d see each other ever again. They were wrong.

Evie is in Thunder Bay. She’s trying to move on after the events of last December. But she’s having a hard time picking up the pieces. Evie has been using elven potions and incubi vampires to numb her pain. She’d find some peace of mind – if only she believed she was worthy of love.

Chris has had two things on his mind for the past six months: Evie and survival. As a member of the Sentry Six team, he has seen as much action as a seasoned soldier. But his sleepless days are all about Evie. Through their blood bond, Chris has felt Evie’s pain and everything she’s done to numb it. He wants to reach out to her and make it all OK, but he can’t. Chris knows his vampire father is still watching and looking for an excuse to fight for Evie.

Now, there’s a new threat to myths everywhere. Irving Murray’s star is rising once again in the Order. He plans to bring about the end of the life myths have fought so hard to build for themselves. And it all starts in Thunder Bay. Irving has picked the city as the starting point for his rise to power – and preternatural holocaust.

Can Evie and Chris put their differences aside to save the world?
