Bhutan, in 2040, will be very different from what it is today. The transport system then needs to respond to the changing needs and demands. The Transport Integrated Strategic Vision 2040 incorporates all existing transport related plans, policies, initiatives, and actions to create a long-term comprehensive strategy for the country. This publication draws largely from a report Bhutan Transport 2040 Integrated Strategic Vision, a subproject of a regional technical assistance on Development Partnership Program for South Asia, financed by the Government of Australia through the Australian Agency for International Development. This was the first study in Bhutan to integrate sustainable transport vision and strategies.
