For adults, it might be a story worthy to read by being a true story; for some others, something they can identify themselves with at some point.
For the youth, it might be read as a road map where they can find signs along the way, showing them the good, the bad, and the ugly of the journey while it all comes in the same package. Yet the one who planned and arranged our journey did not forgot anything for us. He did not forget to leave signals all over the road either. Signals show that there are hazards ahead and challenges of all kind and sizes. This is not going to be an easy road to travel.
Also, there are choices to make and decisions to take. You need to keep your focus on your goals and the right perspective, believing in yourself yet trusting in God alone because He is the one who has prepared the way for all of us. If you keep your eyes on God and believe that what He says is the truth, you will see that the road is not necessarily going to be easier, but it will be secure.
Do not try to find easy ways or shortcuts. There are none. You don’t need to compete with anyone but only with yourself. Do not lean on the most fragile in order to get first. On the contrary, when you see someone falling down, reach out your hand to help them because tomorrow, you might be the one down and in need for someone to help you. Because it is not if we slip and fall; it is when that happens.
Because the fall is a guarantee for everyone, there is nothing to be bitter about but to get better. This is also an advice to never give up when you are on the ground. Just look up and keep all your focus on the only one who can pick you up, and without fear, just take a breath and ask Him for help. He is always ready and willing to show us the way. Also, use those moments when you are on the floor to recognize how small we are and how great God is because without Him, we are lost without hope.
When you are up and well, look around for someone who is in need, and stretch your arm to help them and share the water and your bread because that’s what our heavenly Father does with us. Do not envy anything or desire what others have because we all have what we need, plus little bit more. We all are individually created and here for a very short period of time with purpose. We are on a mission, one that is unique and personal.
You will see that this is a road that no one can travel for us but ourselves, as our journey and our routes were planned for us by God before we were conceived in our mother’s womb. When we stop and ask Him, He will reveal to us because most of the time, the answers are within us or close to us. Just keep going and trusting without looking for shortcuts as these will only take us to dead ends. Always take responsibility for ourselves and for our actions, and be willing to pay the price.
