Her Highness, Maharani Suniti Devi (1864-1932),Companion of the Order of the Indian Empire was the Maharani of the Princely State of Cooch Behar, India upon marriage to His Highness the Maharaja Nripendra Narayan Bhup Bahadur , GCIE (1863–1911). Cooch Behar is the district headquarters and the largest city of Cooch Behar District in the Indian state of West Bengal,in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas.

During the British Raj, the town of Cooch Behar was the seat of the princely state of Cooch Behar, ruled by the Koch dynasty. After 20 August 1949, Cooch Behar District was transformed from a princely state to its present district status, with the town of Cooch Behar as its headquarters.
