Atalaya is a fantasy novella (~17,500 words) that seeks to illustrate the concept written in the book of James 1:14-15.

"But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death." (NKJV)

Atalaya lives in a beautiful garden paradise that is surrounded by mountains on all sides. Life contains only joy and happiness for the people in the garden, but there is one rule which they must all abide by. After Atalaya has broken the rule, her mind becomes broken to dis-contentedness, which leads to desire, which leads to sin, and ultimately, death.

While there is some romance involved, this story does not have a Happily-Ever-After ending but is written as more of a tragedy that still leaves the reader hopeful at the end.
