Gus MacPherson is a Scottish crude oil trader in his early thirties who lives and works in Singapore. Patrick Craig is one of his best clients and convinces him to join forces for the business of their lifetimes. Gus leaves the company he works for and sets up shop with Patrick in Hong Kong. His exit is eerily silent, as he doesn’t formally resign from his job, leaving a trail of suspicions in a highly sensitive and intrinsically cutthroat industry. The business Gus and Patrick pursue is hugely rewarding in financial terms, but equally as shady in terms of ethics and legality.
Things come to a head when violence strikes in broad daylight, triggering a manhunt by those who want to put their hands on Gus’s contracts and a terrifying quest for survival by the young man himself.
His plight will also remind him that he has not necessarily gotten his priorities right over the course of the last ten years or so…
