Just as nature has seasons, the same goes with human beings, from the beginning of life, represented by spring, to the ending of life, represented by winter. The poet also has stages in their work. Here you will find poems from the beginning of my journey, characterized by strict rules of real poetry, to the midstages, where I begin to find my own style. Then you will fine poems with no evidence to suggest one single rule of poetry has been followed at all. That is represented most by what I like to call abstract poetry. I write about a very personal situation in such a way that you, the reader, may be able to apply to something else entirely, all the while convinced it’s about your situation. Poetry should be able to speak to people, to draw them together. Even if the exact situation is different, many times the feelings are the same. Abstract poetry helps us see ourselves as one. You will also find poetry reflecting almost everything—some personal to me alone, many written for others by name or many times not so as to protect their privacy. Some are about my faith and nature. There are many about love, love lost and love found again, and yes, they were all written for one person, and yes, he knows who he is. I hope you enjoy the way I choose to experience this world around me and then express the emotions it creates.
