The Bible is clear that those who are not under Christ's authority and led by the Spirit are still condemned by the law. It is clear that the law is not, and never was the means of salvation, but rather a teacher of what sin is in God’s eyes and a teacher of the righteousness we must have by the Spirit of God which is given by faith in Christ, as well a warning to the rebellious of their danger if they don’t repent.... We saw before though in Romans 8:1-4 that the righteousness of the law is fulfilled in those who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. But what if you still walk after the flesh? Are you free to live as you please, transgress God's law without fear, and yet still be saved? Absolutely not! God never gave promised salvation for those who live after the flesh. And yet preachers all over now tell their hearers that their eternal salvation is in no way impacted by the life they presently live! This is the evil of antinomianism! Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. (Romans 3:31)
