Andy, aged eight, is a blonde haired mischievious young boy who lives in a small village on the edge of Bodmin Moor in Cornwall. It's the start of the summer holidays and, because his parents can't afford to go away on holiday, he has to amuse himself!
Off he goes to see what he can find on the moor and, to his surprise, he sees what he thinks at first to be either an old balloon, or possibly a plastic bag that has got caught up on the top of a gorse bush! Being aware that plastic bags are dangerous for the wildlife, he decides to scramble up and release it. It's then he finds out this is no ordinary bag or balloon, but an alien being, come to seek out knowledge to take back to its planet, which is a long way away from earth!
