They were both on a dating break. Tired of the letdown of dealing with the shallow, self-absorbed dating stock of the world-as they each saw their personal intimate histories.
They weren't looking for one another, or for anyone at all.
A chance meeting at the supermarket with a hot, handsome jock, and later, a man in disguise.
Which one would she choose?
Angel thought that their chosen professional subjects made them such an unlikely pair. But things on the surface aren't always what they seem.
She thought he was different, but can she forgive him his past and trust that he's not like all the other hacks that she had dated in her past?
Will she end up finally finding a man of her own?
This is Angel's Story.
"Those two really are something, Angel thinks on the way home. Why does it upset me so much when Ashlie teases me about being single? She's the one who pointed out to me that I could use a break from men, or more specifically a particular group or type of men. She was right, and that's what I'm trying to do. So, give me a break already.
I know they just want the best for me, so do I. But a science guy? That's so far from the type of guy I usually go for. Maybe that's the point. Perhaps that's just what I need, something different. But I'm not ready yet.
For now, it's just Gray kitty and me.
Besides, what could I possibly have in common with a science teacher, except for maybe some of the potentially toxic concoctions that result from my attempts at cooking?
Ashlie would get a good laugh out of that one. Angel grins at the thought.
Mr. Warton and I are on two completely different ends of the spectrum-physical education, and science. How do those two possibly relate? The only parts of my work that could be considered science would be those wafting smells coming in from the locker room. Some days that is an explosion.
But in his defense, he does have a running hobby that's physically related. And he appreciates good health, a well-tended flower garden, and humor-that's a big plus.
I was looking for different. I guess, in most ways, that's what I got."
