The second book in the series: 'The Fantastic Adventures of Alex Shrine' aimed at the 10 - 13 age group...... to teens and adults and ALL science fiction / fantasy buffs.
Alex Shrine's adventures continue when he returns to a parallel time world from which he enters yet other dimensions.

A journal, written by a long dead scientist, posts some prophetic and jaw dropping revelations including the existence of six parallel Earth realms and a seventh, entirely different in nature to the other six.

Alex's powers are developing rapidly including telepathy and an almost infinite and photographic memory.

After reading the journal Alex realises that he and his friends have to learn all about the Seventh Realm if they are to have any chance of defeating an army of apocalyptic horsemen.

Alex finds himself at the centre of an epic and re-ignited conflict, controlled and manipulated by mysterious cosmic forces seeking to maintain balance and harmony, as the Sorcerers, now calling themselves Sorcrons, seek to rule the cosmos as well as retake the fifth dimension from which they had been ejected.

Excerpts:

  1. Zarlock began to feel uncomfortable for he knew that the Grand Master had a terrible temper.
‘It was the boy. The Shrine. He has developed the power to lift and throw his enemies. He used that power and gave the Warlocks the chance to recover and drive our attack force out. It also appears that he is invulnerable to Sorcron magic. Some of the attack force attempted to turn him to stone but failed.’
‘You told me, Zarlock, the boy has no magic. Has he then been given a crystal?’
‘No great master. He does not have magic and he was not carrying a crystal. The power was within him, but it was not magic as we know it sire.'

  2. ‘There’s one problem,’ said Drum. ‘I can command the powder to take us to the Warlock’s realm but not to a particular place. I haven’t been there before and I can’t think of a person because I don’t know anyone from there, apart from Gimmel and he’s here.’
‘I believe you are telepathic,’ interrupted Gimmel. ‘If you can read my mind I will think of someone for you.’
‘What a brilliant idea,’ said Drum. ‘It might be a good idea to think of a Warlock seeing as they are the ones we are primarily going to see.’
Gimmel responded by closing his eyes.
‘Okay got it,’ said Drum, a hint of surprise in his voice. ‘Tall slim lady by the name of Latrac.’
    Gimmel nodded. ‘That’s right.’
