When the Second World War summons the newlywed grooms of Lafayette to fight evil across the Atlantic, a malevolent force arrives to seduce their wives into the comfort of darkness. It is in this darkness that transgressions are perpetrated, sins are brought to life, and grave promises are forged on the sizzling uncertainty of wartime. The entire world seems to have plunged into an abyss, leaving the wives lost in an endless black void of their own making. But Armistice day arrives sudden and unexpected, and their brutalized husbands come back to start the families the Nazi’s had postponed. Both the husbands and wives do their best to forget the war time, and when all the couples find themselves expecting children, it seems redemption is finally in their grasp; until the festering lies start to bubble up from the past.
