Adventures of a Transgender

At sixteen, Paul is a rather bright person who decides to run away from home and, with the aid of his doctor, leaves for Los Angeles where he hopes to make a new life for himself in a more tolerant environment.
It takes him three months to reach the West Coast since he travels short distances by bus and stops in small towns to work in coffee shops as a bus boy in order to accumulate some savings to survive on once reaching his destination.
By the time Paul arrives in Los Angeles, his body has completely changed into that of a young woman which Paula, as she now thinks herself, is quite pleased with. Being a hardy, tough-minded person, Paula manages to complete her eduacation all the way through college despite the many hardships that she's confronted with.
Just before graduating from UCLA, Paula befriends a woman to whom she is strongly attracted and they end up being lovers. Before very long they move together after realizing that they were meant to become life partners.
