Adam Jory and the Tablets of Destiny

The day a tree attacks the school bully, thirteen-year-old Adam Jory’s life is turned upside down. Already reeling from the loss of his father, Adam finds himself thrown into a fantastic world of demons, druids, shapeshifting housemaids, and monsters. With the help of Dmitri, a dwarf suffering from an inner ear problem, and George the raccoon, Adam finds his way to Haven, a hidden refuge for mages and mythological creatures alike. There, Adam learns that the tragedy in his past is inextricably bound with a myth as old as the written word, the fabled Tablets of Destiny, said to be a source of ultimate power. Now, with the help of his new friends, student mages James and Pavati, Adam must overcome hungry trolls, giant chickens, and magical elvish wedgie traps on his quest to find the Tablets and avenge his father.
