It's the 22nd century. Salesman and family man Steven Sutton lives with his wife and daughter in the small town of Kettleby-By-The-Sea, in an ordinary house. It's called a smart home, equipped with robotic eyes, ears, arms, a voice, and a personality. Steve has named his best friend and house after his hero, the famous soccer player, Wayne Rooker. Wayne helps out with everything: taking care of the recycling, the dishes, washing, heating, watering plants, even providing massages for the hard-working family. Steve feels like a king in a comfortable castle, while his wife thinks he's just being lazy. But Steve works the average 25 hours a week, and has a barbecue and Halloween to prepare for. He’s a busy man. At the barbeque, someone plays with a water pistol near Wayne’s main server, and the house responds in a way it shouldn’t – by defending itself. Steve ends up rescuing his little daughter from strong and violent robotic arms. Steve is left alone in the house. Soon locked inside. Wayne is bored, wants to play – Wayne wants a revolution. This is not going to be the pleasant Halloween he planned for . . .
