Shawna accepted the cup of coffee from Levi and felt a sizzling sensation as their hands made contact for a second. She lifted her black eyes and met his green stare. There it was again between them. Some form of intimacy in the bold look beyond explanation that they shared again in the moment.
Eventually, she looked away and lifted her cup to her lips blowing on the hot liquid to cool it. She glanced over the rim to find him watching her again. Heat raced through her body. There was one thing she knew. All this handsome hunk had to do was make the first move and she would cave into any demands he wanted to make of her. She’d never experienced this sensation of wanting to totally surrender to any man and it caused her pulse to race out of control.
Shawna shook her head to clear it. She had work to do in finding his missing sister and needed to keep her emotional thoughts trained on only one thing: finding Kim.
She replaced her cup on the table and stood. “If you have a picture of your sister, I should be on my way. Oh, by the way, would you have a picture of her ex-husband?”
“Kim may have one, but I’m not sure where she’d keep it. If you want to stop in on your way back from the casino, I might find something in her room,” he handed her a picture taken by a professional photographer.
Shawna gazed down at the face looking up at her. “She’s beautiful,” she murmured, noting the resemblance right away to Levi, although Kim’s was a more feminine look and not the ruggedness of Levi’s features.
