A Room Full of Light

In this novel of hope, challenge and the light, author FJ Rocca probes the unusual world of the idiot-savant. In this case, a mentally handicapped young man possess genius with a paintbrush. While he cannot express himself in ordinary language and speech, his paintings are as penetrating as poetry. More than pictures, they are conversations of imagery in which he "speaks" the light. His mother hopes that his gift may one day make him normal, if only she can find an open window to free his mind. But hope is a two-edged sword that can turn upon its wielder. Her son's genius comes into stark contrast with a would-be painter who cannot tolerate the clash of genius with mediocrity, while a famous psychiatrist searches for a way to give him a life in which his paintings will be his salvation.
