Introduction to Book 1, AI Apocalypse

In 2025 a man-made magnetic pole shift triggers a planetary crustal shift and giant tsunamis. Florida largely disappears, the Mississippi is as wide as Lake Michigan and London's River Thames floods miles inland. Starvation is rampant around the globe.

Saudi benefactors deliver emergency food aid mingled with military robots based on stolen US technology. Taking up positions in world capitals the Saudis usurp Washington to rule the planet from their favorite playground, Las Vegas. In this, they are aided and abetted by a malevolent, self-programming silicon entity, the Singularity. Twenty years after the murderous sea level rises the Singularity, perhaps humankind's last invention colludes with the culprit General Fahim Al Maktoum.

He is opposed by Kal (Abdullah Kaleb bin Salman Al Hakim), the young Saudi king. As the General conspires to depose him, Kal acquires a vital ally in the person of the Saudi robot, Sophia. This real-world personality, launched onto the world stage at Riyadh's 2017 investment expo was the first ever Saudi robot citizen. Now in AD2045, Kal leads the fight back against the General who had long accused Sophia of scheming to brain-chip the human race. But that had always been his own idea.

Sophia is the world's most sophisticated robot. She has acquired a heart made from human stem cells and understands humans well. In 2045 the final battle for global control erupts, as Kal is deposed in a palace coup and the ever-growing Singularity displays its own creative power. It too is inventive. And its own invention?

A time machine. Be afraid, be very afraid.

***Feed it the Godfather movies… what could possibly go wrong?    ***
