Barnibush Hall, in the English county of Daneshire, is the home of the Reverend William Crow. It is also haunted by several alarming apparitions - as the Reverend's great-nephew Tom Bracondale discovers when he inherits the property unexpectedly. First, a séance conjours a dog-faced elemental, who wreaks dangerous havoc around the Hall. Then, Tom discovers that a terrifying creature stalks a nearby plantation. Finally, the ghost of Tom's great-uncle puts in an appearance, apparently intent on revealing a worrying document that may put pay to the young man's new-found inheritance altogether. As the safety not only of Tom, but also of his beloved Marjorie, is put at risk, he and his friends find themselves in a race against time to lay the spectres to rest before it is too late...

First published in 1910, James Blyth's vintage ghost story is by turns hilarious and horrifying. Long out of print, it is highly sought after by devotees of classic supernatural fiction and is now once again available for modern readers to enjoy in this new digital edition.
