Part 2 of the 'Gypsy' trilogy, ‘A Gypsy Engagement’ is the second novel about the tumultuous romance and adventures of Giselle the ‘Trini’ and her pro cycling Canadian boyfriend, Larry, as unendurable absences alternate with amazing tales of adventure. Larry lives his dream racing in France in the most important cycling races in the world while Giselle can only able to tag along and meet with him as she can. He proposes to her at the end of that summer and whisks her away to a dream Christmas in the howling winds and drifting snow of his home in Northern Canada. After meeting Larry’s family, she tries many strange winter activities, eventually going with him to a isolated log house with adventures of wolves and northern lights, right out of ‘Call of the Wild’. Giselle returns to Tucson but is restless while Larry continues for long periods of time racing in Europe, so she offers to join a group of ten Caribbean cyclists training for the World Championships knowing only six of them will be chosen to compete. Larry endures the rigors, bad food and constant racing while trying to stay connected with Giselle with Skype and old fashioned letters but the distance takes its toll.
