Bitter and alone after his partner’s death, Scott James returns to the Eel River in Northern California to regain his life. While sitting by the river’s shore, he looks up and locks eyes with a scruffy bearded man standing across the river holding a large menacing axe.

Shaken but at the same time unexpectedly aroused by the erotic stranger’s stare, he could feel his apprehension growing as the woodsman’s persistent scrutiny began to alarm him. Breaking the stare, he heads back to his cabin, but hot memories of the virile intensely sexy man continue to invade his thoughts.

Later while shopping in Garberville, Scott notices the rugged man walking across the street. The man once again stares at him, almost appraising him, and left Scott profoundly shaken by his second penetrating encounter with the handsome stranger.

Trying to put him out of his thoughts, Scott purchases a painting, and was turning to leave when he was stunned to see the woodsman walking up to him. Introduced as Morgan Peters the painting’s artist, Morgan now makes it very clear that Scott has his full interest. There is now no question that both men feel the unmistakably heated charge of magnetism between them.

When his host and longtime friend Molly invites Scott to a welcome back dinner, he arrives and finds Morgan waiting for him. Unstoppable attraction mixed with lust soon finds them craving each other’s touch, as the heat of passion envelops them.

During the following days together, their mutual fascination grows into something deeper and more profound. Will Scott now decide to move on from the old lingering memories of his past life, or will ghosts of the past haunt his budding chance for a new life with Morgan?
