Choose a recipe and hunker down for a honey of a tale.

Wannabe musician Pagan Johansson's life is easy-peasy as the favorite person of her rich aunt. Then one foolish decision changes everything. Slathering the honey from a gift basket on herself for her lover Michael to lick off doesn't seem like a big deal...until he dies because the honey was poisoned.

Pagan quickly becomes the buzz of her Michigan tourist town, with a vengeful chief of police itching to slap a murder rap on her. She handles it with her usual flair—by running away.

Hiding out on the "wrong side of the track" with pal Velveeta Marconi, Pagan tries to figure out who hated Michael enough to poison him. That task alone is stressful, so she doesn't need an ex-fiancé trying to rekindle their romance, a lusty not-in-a-million-years admirer determined to kindle anything, a skanky ex-sister-in-law stirring up family trouble, or a recording rep with questionable interest in her musical talent. Then again, no one said life was fair. It's no surprise that Pagan is in an awfully sticky situation.
