Have you ever had a day in your life when you felt depressed, sad, distraught, or angry? A day in which your spouse, child, boss, friend, or relative did something to offend your reasonable sensibilities? I am in the same boat as you. However, as a Christian believer, I have come to understand that these feelings will not consume the Holy Spirit, which is directing and ordering my daily steps.
My motivation to write this book occurred when I was running on a hot August morning in Lake Charles, Louisiana. While I was exercising, I was listening to the religious channel on Pandora. One of the songs that I heard that morning was “Oh, Happy Day.” When I heard that song and thought about Pharrell Williams’s popular song “Happy,” I was inspired to examine my life and search God’s Holy Word and to reflect in my mind as to why my days are Happy.
As you read the personal, biblical, and gospel-related reflections in this book, you will transform your mind. The words may lead you to sing, pray, or cry. I encourage you to look beyond your present situation, good or bad, and be Happy. God is an awesome God. I want you to embrace the reality that God showers upon you a perpetual and flowing stream of love, grace, and mercy. You were not created to have a pity party, but rather to praise and worship the risen Savior, Jesus Christ. Rejoice in this day because Jesus Christ is your personal conduit for an abundant life. And by all means, be Happy.
God loves you, and so do I.
Be blessed.
