When she looked into his eyes, they were narrowed, cold and piercing. There was something in Adam's eyes she had never seen before and it scared her almost to death. Her heart began to hammer erratically when she realized that she had come face to face with her enemy, one she had not anticipated.
There was a deadness, a kind of a stillness that had replaced the white of his eyes. There was nothing in his eyes that cautioned or alerted her to what was rushing through his mind, but when she noticed his clenched jaw, she knew she was in trouble.
She could feel the iciness of the knife as it met her flesh, and she could not ignore the sounds it made as the blade was twisted into her.
She could feel each muscle contract as each nerve began to twitch.
She was trapped between the four walls of her bedroom, lingering between life and death as she grew impatient for her one final breath to come. The pain that had flowed through her body like hot lava only seconds ago, had made way for an icy numbness.
The corner of her eyes were filled with blackness as it ruthlessly began to spread, almost like a virus, through the white of her eyes. She could hear herself breath and was horrified by the ragged, shallow gasps she was taking.
A misty veil began covering her eyes, and was slowly blinding her. She could feel the faint beating of her heart against her rib cage slow down, and grow weaker with each breath she took until the darkness ruthlessly seized her.
