CONTAINS: **A SORT OF JUSTICE **
Half-alien Mark Praed’s mind-reading powers make him the right man to complete demanding assignments for the CIS. When his last mission leaves him betrayed and tortured, he faces perils worse than intergalactic traitors and spies: a new job and a partner. Forced to transfer from CIS to the Commonwealth’s counter terrorist task force, Praed is partnered with Alexandra Lansing.

Alex is a by-the-book task force veteran of two years who isn’t fond of change. And she is far from happy working with a partner who can read her mind. Their first operation together is an easy one: Jonathan Reul is suspected of selling arms from The Groves, a resort planet he owns. They are to watch him and discover if task force suspicions are correct.

After working solo for two years at CIS, Praed is finding it difficult working with a partner. Her constant questions are too invasive for his liking.

But as ghosts from his past rear their ugly heads, the team’s simple observe-and-report operation quickly becomes a life or death battle. Can they come together and apprehend their quarry, or will he slip away?

TALONS TOUCH
In the second year of their partnership, Commonwealth counter terrorist task force operatives, Mark Praed and Alexandra Lansing, are sent on a mission which takes them across the galaxy to a new world.

Their mission is to locate Talon, a particularly brutal but elusive terrorist who seems to be involved in every vicious attack against citizens of the Commonwealth. There is only one lead: the task force has learned a drug dealer named Randall Hamish has contacted Talon with a proposition to join forces. He and his gang have set down on the recently terra-formed farming planet of Tallis, and are terrorizing the legal, deed-holding settlers, hoping to force the colony to leave. Hamish wants the planet all to himself so he can grow, harvest, and process the illegal drug, bliss. He hopes Talon can help him with the chore of removing the settlers. In exchange, he’ll provide the terrorist with enough bliss to use as currency to purchase weapons.
Posing as a convicted felon, Praed will infiltrate Hamish’s gang while Alex is sidelined in the settlement as his contact.

Praed’s orders are to find out everything he can about Talon, with emphasis on the location of the terrorist’s base. He will report it all to Alex, who in turn, will pass it on to their superior, Henry Davison. To complicate matters, Hamish has taken two of the settlers as his prisoners, and Praed is to return them to the settlement, if possible.

Right from the start, however, the mission seems to go sideways. Will Praed and Alex find a way to turn it around in time to locate Talon, stop Hamish’s scheme, and release the prisoners without losing their own lives?

A CRUEL RECKONING
Alexandra Lansing is looking forward to a vacation from her job as an operative with the Commonwealth’s counterterrorist task force. She has three blissful weeks off, and plans to spend the her time in France. But when she’s snatched from the Left Bank in Paris she isn’t sure if her kidnapping is a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time or a direct plot against the task force.

When she discovers Praed has also been abducted, the vacation is officially over, and the possibility of an informer at task force headquarters becomes a very real, very frightening possibility.

After escaping, Praed offers himself as bait to draw out the kidnappers, hoping to discover the mastermind behind the plot. Alex is in hot pursuit, but will she be able to reach him before his captors extract the information they want and execute him?
